If you own a PlayStation-certified device, you'll be delighted to read that the PlayStation Store has been updated with a few new titles. The biggest draw is, undoubtedly, Silent Hill, Konami's foggy survival-horror masterpiece.
This game is one of the real gems of the PSone era - with its grim mix of browns, greys, and gory reds, it set the standard for creepy, atmospheric horror in the late '90s.
Alongside Silent Hill, you can now pick up the delightfully wacky Bishi Bashi Special, which is a collection of vaguely insane multiplayer mini-games, and is fun for all but the most cynical of family members.
Also new to the PlayStation Store are Super Slammin' Dodgeball, Airboat Racing, Sorcerers Maze, All-Star Boxing, and Miracle Space Race.
Silent Hill retails for £5.49, while the rest will set you back anything between £2.39 and £3.99.
We'll have a story up about the new games soon - this time in the Xperia Play section! \o/

I downloaded Bishi Bashi Special last night which works perfectly with the Xperia Play's controls, so I can only assume the rest of the games do too. It's very good fun, hopefully it will be reviewed soon as it's a solid 8 as an on-the-go game!

That's interesting - my Play got replaced by insurance and game with the new PS store pre-installed so I just assumed it was for everyone with the Play now! I'm very confused but the app does seem to work fine. I'll buy a game later to see how it works :)
Within the app it shows all the prices as £gbp and encourages me to add £5 to my PSN wallet when I click on 'buy' on one of the games.

Although, having said all that, I'm currently getting two conflicting reports about if the PlayStation Store is now available on the Xperia Play from two of the writers.
It seems that while Sony's official line is that it's not supported - wwwplaystationcom/pss/store/en.html - it DOES apparently work on the Play.
I'm going to pop the story in both sections and see if anyone complains ;-)

Hi Aros,
We put this one in the Android section only mainly because - while the games are compatible with PS-certified devices - the actual PlayStation Store app wasn't made available to Xperia Play in the UK and US (just the Xperia S in the UK).
So it would be theoretically impossible for Play owners outside of Japan to buy the games ('theoretically', as I'm sure there's a workaround - this is Android, after all!)

Why isn't this in the Xperia Play section? :-\ Lots of Xperia Play news seems to be not getting posted in the section lately. A lot of Xperia Play fans don't check out your other sections so getting all the news in the right place is vital to retain your reputation as the Web's best XP site.
