Sega's latest financial report suggests the Sonic creator doesn't have much faith in the 3DS
Just 3 titles expected this year
Sega's recently released financial report for the 2011 fiscal year makes for fascinating reading, especially if you're interested in the company's future plans for Nintendo's 3DS handheld.
During the 2011 fiscal year (April 2010 - March 2011), Sega amassed almost 1.8 million sales from 18 different 3DS games, including Sonic Generations 3DS and Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
However, in this current financial year (April 2012 - March 2013), the Sonic creator only plans to release a measly three 3DS titles, and is forecasting sales of around 380,000. This suggests the company doesn't see Ninty's portable console as an opportunity for growth.
In comparison, Sega expects to release eight new PS Vita titles this year, and is forecasting sales of around 600,000.
