Hannover-based developer ReduxGame has recently launched one of those
Kickstarter campaign thingies to raise the necessary capital for an all-new space shooter for iOS, XBLA, PSN, Steam, and... the Sega Dreamcast. Yup.
Anyway,
Redux: Dark Matters will arrive packing "tons" of different weapons, more enemies than you can shake a stick at, and an "addictive" scoring system, as well as six stages - all of which house huge boss battles.
The iOS version of the title, which is the version you're all here to read about, will also feature Game Center support. So, you'll be able to compete for high scores with your buddies.
You'll have to pledge at least $65 to get your hands on that extremely Limited Edition Dreamcast version, but you can pledge as little as $5 to help this game get off the ground.

Turns out Edward, they don't need your cash.... Don't worry you've got your Xbox and R-Type.

From what I watched in the video, it's just a ripoff of the R-Type code. I can play R-Type anytime on my Xbox from the original remake, or the iPhone version released by EA. So that's about it? Are they gathering Kickstarter funds for a less than original game? No, thank you. If it is that easy to get funds for games like this one, I may try ripping off some major classics and get free coins for that. Yeah, right. Come with something original and I may start to think about backing you up.
