Potatoes have many uses – you can mash them, bake them, boil them, and fry them. However, the guys at Sabor Studio have found another use for the world’s fourth-largest food crop: international warfare.

Pota-Toss is an artillery game that requires you to fling potatoes at your enemy to destroy his base. An indie project funded by Kickstarter, Pota-Toss puts a social spin on the popular Angry Birds formula, offering varied local and online multiplayer modes.

Don't be a tater

The stylishly presented Pota-Toss uses your phone's GPS to determine your location, then utilises that data to create the geography of the battlefield.

Simply put, if you’re playing in Paris and your opponent is playing in Egypt, you'll be defending the Eiffel Tower from a carb-heavy attack while trying to destroy pyramids and Sphinxes with your own freshly-harvested arsenal.

Each base occupies half the screen, and with 200 environments planned for launch day Pota-Toss will potentially let you engage in thousands of environmental mash-ups. Sabor Studio also intends to provide monthly updates, ensuring the number of locations will continue to grow after the game is released.
