iPhone gaming podcast - Episode 137: Gold-plated edition
It's the kiss of death from mister...
The usual three chaps - Jon, Keith, and I - are in the pod this week for the first time in ages to discuss the recent happenings in the world of iPhone and iPad gaming. Also - more music samples. Everyone loves that (possibly).
In terms of news, we talk about the pressure on Nintendo to make smartphone games from its shareholders (and how that would/wouldn’t work), the ongoing clone war between Ninja Fishing and Ridiculous Fishing, and whether Theme Park is better than Rollercoaster Tycoon.
New releases are as muddled and hectic as ever (too many games). Kudos points if you know where the Defender of the Crown sample comes from, though. And bonus points if you can name all the main characters in the show.
We’ve been playing a slew of strong titles in the What We’ve Been Playing Fields, including Shift 2: Unleashed, Anomaly Warzone Earth, and Jet Set Go. Jon’s also managed to get his hands on iBlast Moki 2, but we’ll likely hear more about that one next week.
Talking of next week - we’re going to be at Gamescom, which means it’s going to be another hectic episode with Will and Jon drinking beer in a pub. A German pub, this time. Just an early warning.
