Konami's One Hundred Person Battle Bomberman blasts onto Android and iOS

For its latest mobile venture, Konami has reached into the psyches of Bomberman enthusiasts everywhere and pulled out a title that is clinically engineered to have fans hyperventilating within seconds.

The title? 'One Hundred Person Battle Bomberman'.

Now, before you start furiously abusing your smartphone screen in an effort to be first in line to give Konami your money, you should know three things.

Firstly, the game is a free-to-play experience on Android and iOS, though it does feature in-app micro-transactions.

Secondly, the game is only currently available in Japan.

Thirdly - and here's where I deflate that joy-filled balloon I just handed you - it's actually a single-player game.

This is personal?

Of the one hundred people referred to in the title, four are AI companions, while the remaining 95 are CPU-controlled opponents.

Obviously, some folks on the interwebs are pointing out that the game's title is slightly misleading, especially the use of the word "person".

The inevitably unreliable English translation of the App Store title reads 'Bomberman Wars 100 People', which isn't really much better.

Still, it's a free-to-play game. You (don't) pay your money, you takes your chance, eh.
