Every year, we look forward to seeing what weird and wonderful games end up as finalists and winners at the Independent Games Festival (IGF) awards.

This year, an intriguing new game is in line to win the prestigious Seamus McNally Grand Prize - an award previously won by games like Minecraft, Fez, and Papers, Please.

That game is Metamorphabet, from Windosill maker Vectorpark. It's a weird, slightly tripping, wonderfully surprising ABC where each letter morphs and mutates into different words that start with that letter.

So E becomes a big elephant, C turns into a car, and A sprouts antlers.

It's not exactly a game, per se. There are some light puzzles, I suppose, but nothing like Windosill. Instead, this is an odd and playful little toy that you'll keep tapping, touching, and twisting - just to see what happens next. Good for kids, too.

The game's due on iOS on February 12th. Until then, check out our hands-on video above.
