Biodroid ensures its MegaRamp game will be as realistic as possible with the help of Danny Way, Pierre Luc-Gagnon and Vince Byron

It's been a while since we hooked up with Portuguese developer Biodroid and its official MegaRamp game.

Planned to be inbound for Android and iOS at some point in mid-September, it's now entering the final stage of production and the company is ensuring that it's getting the best advice from the top men in the sport.

So at the recent X Games event in Los Angeles, it had a hands-on test session with punters and also got big air expert skater and MegaRamp creator Danny Way into so he could give his seal of approval.

Every move

Of course, prior to the finishing touches and polish stage, Biodriod has had deeper interactions with other stars of the X Games.

Because the MegaRamp competition covers skaters and BMX riders, it's been motion capturing performers to ensure that the in-game character animations are as realistic as possible.

This is very hard to do with conventional camera and tracker-based motion capture, so it's combined with UK outfit Animazoo to use its inertial motion suits. These are able to record the fast, acrobatic body movement that's required when you're zooming up and down mega ramps.

Stars who helped out included X Games 2012 gold medal skater Pierre Luc-Gagnon and X Games 2012 silver BMX rider Vince Byron.
