Rockstar has confirmed that the mobile version of Max Payne will be arriving on the App Store on April 12th, with Android-users getting the game on April 26th.

Originally developed by Remedy Entertainment (Death Rally, Alan Wake), Max Payne was one of the first titles to introduce the slow-motion ‘bullet-time’ style to gaming.

It saw the maverick titular detective go up against hordes of gangsters in a brutal quest to avenge his dead wife.

The game’s iconic look and gameplay has been the inspiration behind such titles as Gameloft’s less-than brilliant 9mm, but we’re hoping Rockstar has managed to get the controls to function a little better with the touchscreen than that title.

Max Payne will be diving through the App Store window next Thursday.
