Highly acclaimed iPhone and iPad puzzler Magnetic Billiards: Blueprint goes free for a limited time, to coincide with its entry in AppMadness competition

Due to its participation in this month's AppMadness.net Tournament, the Pocket Gamer Gold Award-winning puzzler Magnetic Billiards: Blueprint can be now be downloaded free of charge.

The AppMadness.net event, which is voted for by the general public, sees 32 iOS apps facing off against each other over five rounds, with the eventual winner crowned the app of the month.

"We think it's only fair that if people are being asked to vote on which app they prefer then they can try our game for free to see if they like it," John Pickford, Magnetic Billiards: Blueprint's co-designer, said.

In the pocket

Your goal in Magnetic Billiards: Blueprint is similar to that in a game of pool, albeit on a table that doesn't have pockets. Instead, you earn points by forming clusters of similarly coloured balls, and earn extra rewards for constructing recognised shapes.

The Universal app features over 20 casual tables to master, full Game Center integration with leaderboards and achievements, and Retina display support.

Optional in-app purchases allow you to unlock arcade games, 20 serious tables, and a Skeleton Key. The latter unlocks all existing and future content.

Magnetic Billiards: Blueprint will remain free for as long as it stays in the tournament, so go and grab it while you can.
