Now this is the sort of thing we usually leave to the experts, which in the case of Pocket Gamer means Damien McFerran. However he's not at E3, so, sadly, you're left with me trying to unpick the launch of another Personal Media Player with gaming features.

In this case, it's called the M2 from Chinese manufacturer Conny Technology.

We don't have too many details at the moment. We think it's a 32-bit machine; but it's definitely a touchscreen device with two cameras (back and front), and the usual MP3 and MP4 playback features. A ton of games were embedded but from what we could see of them, they were of the clone variety in terms of genres such as tower defence, platformers, puzzlers etc.

Physically, the build quality was fairly reasonably however, with some components - noticeable the dual cameras, stylus, microphone, and even the volume switch - reminding us of the DSi. Launch plans didn't seem to be entirely pinned down, but a price of $130 and sometime around during summer in the US was mentioned. We'll try to find out more details as E3 continues.

In the meantime, here's some pictures of the unit with the very charming booth assistant.
