Take up the cowl / cape / tiara of Justice in new superhero slugfest for iPhone and iPad
By Ryan Sandrey 01 August 2012
Game Name: Justice League: Earth's Final Defense | Developer: Netmarble | Publisher: Warner Bros. | Format: iPhone, iPad | Genre: Action
DC Comics's Justice League needs your help.
In Netmarble's Justice League: Earth's Final Defense, which will be available on the UK and US App Stores later tonight, you step into the under-pressure shoes of the five members (Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Green Lantern, The Flash) of the fabled superhero team.
Playing as the New52 revisions of the heroes, you punch and kick your way through the four chapters in this 20-episode story, in a bid to rid the planet of the Joker, Luther, and The Villain.
As you progress through the campaign, you can upgrade and level-up each of the heroes' 12 skills, and choose between five costumes.
With a little help from my superfriends
As well as the five playable heroes, there's a support structure available. If you collect the support cards dotted throughout the game, Cyborg and the other members of the Justice League (like the trident-wielding, fish-enticing Aquaman) will show up to help you in your missions. There are a few barriers to entry into the Justice League, however. If you've jailbroken your iPhone, then you'll have to 'unjailbreak' it to fight the good Justice League fight. If you don't own one of the newer-generation iOS devices, by the way, then unfortunately you also won't be able to play.
A Universal app, Justice League: Earth's Final Defense will be available from midnight tonight at the special promotional price of £1.99 / $2.99. After August 7th, its price will go up to £2.99 / $4.99. If you're still unsure about buying it, check out the trailer below.
