Bear with us here, for a moment, this is a strange one.

Relatively unknown Chinese manufacturer Jin Xing has announced an Android-powered portable gaming console that it hopes will compete against Nintendo's forthcoming 3DS XL, in spite of the fact that it only boasts a single screen and lacks 3D of any kind.

And, just to make things a little stranger, it looks a hell of a lot like the Wii U's GamePad, runs Android, and has - what we presume to be fake - Apple apps on the home screen. What?

Spec-wise, the JXD S5100 will house an ARM A9 processor, 512mb of ROM, a Power VR GPU, and 4GB of flash memory. It'll also pack a 5-inch 800x480 resolution screen and HDMI out capabilities.

It'll be powered by Android 2.3.4, which is a little disappointing, but the console does only cost the equivalent $75.
