A couple of months ago, we received word that former Infinity Ward employee and Call of Duty strategist Robert Bowling had opened a new development studio, which would work on games for the PC, next-gen consoles, and mobile devices.

Well, that studio, Robotoki, has just announced its first game: Human Element.

Expected to arrive in 2015, Human Element will be a location-based apocalyptic survival sim that changes dynamically in accordance to your gender, identity, location, and even the device you're playing on.

A marriage of convenience

"We're overlaying the world of Human Element onto the Google Maps API, FourSquare business API; we're taking your real world and merging it with your game world," Bowling told website GamesIndustry.biz.

"So now you're checking into places in the real world and you're scavenging in those locations for supplies that are dynamic to those locations. We can do that anywhere there's GPS map data."

Basically, if you're playing at home on your PC, your character is injured, and you're unable to find medical supplies, you can head out into the real world and check-in near a pharmacy on your iPhone.

"You're feeding those supplies back to your character in Human Element - these are not independent experiences, they're additive to each other," Bowling said.

Furthermore, you can form alliances with other players. This allows you to share resources and supplies.
