Have you ever dreamed about brutal dwarven vengeance?

Does the thought of killing orcs, hoarding gold, and yelling in a vague Scottish accent set your fantasy fires burning?

If you answered yes to either or both of the above questions, you'll want to check out the Kickstarter for Holdfast: Record of the Dwarven Kingdoms.

The expansive fantasy gamebook is set to span over 600 sections and will lead you on an epic quest to avenge ancient grudges, reclaim your lost kingdoms, and - naturally - paint the mines underneath of your favourite mountain red with a rising tide of orc blood.

Nobody tosses a dwarf

Holdfast represents a partnership between Black Chicken Studios and Tin Man Games, who recently brought you the former Game of the Week and Silver Award-winning gamebook Trial of the Clone.

Black Chicken will bring its focus on tactical combat to Holdfast, and notes that while the gamebook will use a d10 to resolve combat rolls luck will not be the dominant factor in combat.

Instead, the weapon you're using and how you use it will determine your success and failure in battle - thus, you can turn a complete rout into an epic victory with the right strategy.

The print edition of Holdfast: Record of the Dwarven Kingdoms is expected at the end of this year, with the digital version to follow in the second quarter of 2014.

If you're interested in contributing to the Kickstarter campaign and reserving a copy of the digital edition for yourself, you have until May 30 to do so.

Just be aware that you can only reserve the Android version at current - although we've been assured that iOS version will follow if the funding goal is met.
