Foursaken Media has announced that its next game will be Heroes and Castles 2, the sequel to the Bronze Award-winning Heroes and Castles.

If you're new to the series, it's essentially a mash-up of a third-person action game, a castle defence game, and a strategy game.

You're stomping around a medieval world, swinging a sword and getting other people to swing theirs.

The graphics have had a complete overhaul. In other words, they're much shinier and nicer than they were when the first game came out at the start of 2013. Which isn't that much of a surprise really.

Apparently your hero will be fully customisable, and you'll be able to summon huge armies to come and help you whomp on invaders.

On top of all that there are piles of different weapons and armour to equip your hero with, and a huge campaign that spreads out across dozens of different lands. Plus some more whomping probably.

You'll fight during the night, you'll fight during the day, and you'll fight a bunch of enemies with unique behaviours, attack patterns, and counters.

We don't have a release date yet, but we will of course let you know as and when we hear anything about one.

In the meantime, why not check out the gallery back at the top of the page to see some more of those swanky screenshots.
