Japanese social gaming platform GREE, which will spread to the UK and US this year, already has the backing of several large developers, such as Capcom and Konami.

The platform's operator isn't resting on its laurels, though. GREE, Inc. has just recruited two new studios: French publishers Gameloft and Ubisoft.

The latter has even promised to create an all-new mobile Assassin's Creed title for iOS and Android devices that will be released exclusively through the GREE platform.

According to Ubisoft, the forthcoming title, which is expected to arrive in December, will aim to offer "a new and innovative social gaming experience in the Assassin's franchise".

Similarly, Gameloft is bringing new card-based social title Gang Domination to "various" smartphones this June.

The mob-themed card game will allow you to co-operate with your buddies and face off against other players from around the world in order to form a powerful gang.

"Social card games are considered the most popular social game in Japan. Gang Domination will be Gameloft's first social card game, and we're thrilled to work on this project with a leading player in this market such as GREE," Michel Guillemot, Gameloft's founder, said.
