Beyond Ynth
By FDG Entertainment - download for iPhone

FDG Entertainment's Pocket Gamer Bronze Award-winning game Beyond Ynth is easily one of the iPhone's best platformers. In it, you guide a small bug through a variety of environments, attempt to overcome tricky puzzles, and snatch gems en route to each stage's exit.

There are around 80 different levels to complete - all of which feature environmental hazards and a range of other pesky hindrances. Thankfully, if you make a mistake, you can rewind your last few steps and take a second stab at it.

Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space Ep 1
By Telltale - download for iPhone and iPad

Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space Ep 1 is, of course, the first episode in a five-part point-and-click adventure, which sees the Freelance Police detectives face off against Santa Claus.

Basically, your job is to uncover clues, interrogate suspects, and, ultimately, crack bizarre cases.
