Piyo Blocks 2 (iPhone)

Piyo Blocks 2 is a Pocket Gamer Silver Award-winning match-three puzzler in which you match three or more similarly coloured blocks to achieve a high score.

There are six different game modes to play through: Piyo, Hyaku, Time Attack, Three Second, Disco, and Endless. Naturally, each mode offers different challenges.

If you prefer playing with friends, however, there's also a special Multiplayer mode that allows you to battle your best mates through Apple's Game Center network.

Lil Flippers (Universal)

Lil Flippers is an "action-packed adventure" title that sees you race, dive, and jump through the sea and sky; collect treasures and keys; and avoid pesky enemies.

You do this over six different randomly generated worlds that span a ship graveyard, kelp fields, Pacific waters, and the lost world of Atlantis.

Apple's Game Center social gaming network has been baked in so that you can unlock achievements and compete with your friends on leaderboards.
