The kingdom of Heiland is blighted by a dragon’s curse. Monsters of varying size and weirdness now roam its once-peaceful lands. And you’re a hunter with time on your hands and heroism on your mind. That’s the story of Dragon Project, the Japanese mobile MMO game developed by COLOPL and published for the rest of the world by goGame.

It goes without saying that, as an upstanding citizen, you’ll want to rush in and save the poor Heilandites from snarling behemoths. But just in case you need further persuasion, here are 5 reasons to join the fight in Dragon Project.

Play the hero

Back in the day, Heiland’s creatures great and small were probably benevolent little fluffballs. But a dragon’s curse transformed them into angry, ugly pains in the rear. In Dragon Project, you get to be a hero and a hunter, saving the day, every day. Track down the monsters to hack-and-slash your way into Hunters’ Guild history books. Oh and impress the kawaii mission manager Pamela in the process, whose enthusiasm is matched only by the soaring pitch of her voice.

Dress to impress

A hero is only as good as his or her equipment. In Dragon Project, you can farm impossibly-large swords, powerful shields and armour so elaborately decorated it would make a samurai blush. As you kill monsters, you can use their parts to forge equipment, so grinding pays off. The bigger and badder the baddy you bump off, the better the equipment its parts will forge.

Different modes for different folks

You can play Dragon Project in a style that suits you. Opt to take on the big boys by summoning behemoths with tickets or gems, effectively triggering a boss battle at will.
Or if mission-based gaming suits you more, there’s a story mode with quests to complete. There are also regular events and special expeditions to keep gameplay fresh for newbies and veterans alike.

The more players the merrier

As with most MMOs, there’s more fun to be had when you join forces with fellow players. Meet-and-greet in the open fields and take on the roaming monsters as they crop up. Or join forces against a behemoth and split the loot amongst friends.

One finger to rule them all

COLOPL has masterfully designed Dragon Project’s gameplay mechanics so all you need to control, attack and defend yourself is a single finger (One-Punch Man would be jealous). No awkward two-thumbed joystick controls or key combinations – just swipe, tap or hold.

By now I expect you’re eager to defend the besieged plains of Heiland, so we’ll point you in the right direction. You can download Dragon Project for free from Google Play and the App Store.
