Madfinger redefines cutting-edge mobile graphics with the very gory Dead Trigger zombie FPS
If it moves, dismember it
The zombie meme cannot be killed, but Shadowgun developer Madfinger is doing its best to shoot it in the head, chop off its arms, and blow up whatever remains.
At least, that appears to be the thinking behind Dead Trigger, which looks like it's gunning for the title of the most bloody, realistic zombie shooter ever.
BrainsCertainly, Madfinger is using all of its technical prowess to ensure that the experience will be nothing less than visceral.
Taking a first person view, the game has been created using the Unity engine so will run on iOS and Android devices, including special optimisation for Nvidia's Tegra 3 hardware, and Apple's third generation iPad.
In technical terms, Madfinger is bigging up the game's advanced lighting and post-process effects, plus nasty ragdolls physics that will allow you to dismember the zombie hordes with well-placed shots, as well as explosives and bladed weapons.
Weaponry already announces includes laser amputator, blade chopper, baits, mines, grenades and the usual array of pistols, shotguns, assault rifles and chainguns.
Rank of nationsGetting away from the gore, Dead Trigger also hopes to push game design as you fight your way through largescale environments, and unpicking the narrative about what happened to cause the zombie apocalypse.
There will be achievements and leaderboards, while you can share your progress through the game on Facebook and Twitter. Madfinger even says it will collate players' progress so you can see which countries around the world are performing the best.
And it also promises to update the game with new missions, weapons, gadgets and characters.
Dead Trigger will be released for iOS and Android (including via Nvidia's TegraZone) sometime in June.
