Goblins fixate on resource buildings (to which they handily deal double damage) and, as the fastest unit in the game, they get there quickly too.
However, without support to draw enemy fire away from their relatively feeble green skin, they won’t last very long.
So only deploy them into enemy camps once your Barbarians / Giants have got the attention of the Cannons, Mortars, Archer / Wizard Towers.
