Mass Effect developer BioWare wants to bring 'quality, richness, and depth' to mobile games

You're familiar with BioWare, right?

If not, the Canadian developer is responsible for numerous big-budget PC and console franchises, such as Dragon Age and Mass Effect.

Anyway, the AAA specialist is going to take a crack at the mobile gaming arena.

On the go

In a recent interview with website BeefJack, BioWare co-founders Doctor Greg Zeschuk and Doctor Ray Muzyka gave some rather vague details of what we can expect from the studio in the future.

"The idea being able to enable our players to play the games where they want, how they want, when they want and being able to take it with them on the go, that’s exciting to us - the idea of being able to bring BioWare quality, and richness, and depth, and choice and consequence, to stories that are appropriate for the platforms," Muzyka said.

Muzyka's comments lend credence to the possibility of a Mass Effect iOS, Facebook, and Google+ application that would allow you to "follow your progress" no matter where you are. We reported on the possibility of such an app back in October.

Specialised

In the interview with Beefjack, Muzyka was keen to emphasise the need to create a product specifically designed around a device's best features: "It’s important to play to the strengths of whatever format you’re making a game for."

"So we’re trying to adapt what we build and tune it to the needs of and desires of our fans across whatever platform they’re intending to play it on. And always leave them with the feeling that they’re playing something that’s awesome."
