Gameloft, infamous purveyors of unoriginal yet entertaining fare such as the Halo-alike N.O.V.A and World of Warcraft clone Order and Chaos Online, has enjoyed some success with BackStab on Android.

And this Thursday, iOS users can get a slice of the Assassin's Creed meets Pirates of the Caribbean action, as BackStab will finally be hitting Apple's App Store.

On reviewing the Xperia Play iteration of the open world BackStab, we found it 'grand in scale', and warned that piratey protagonist Henry Blake's adventures would 'cut into your time'.

With the announcement of an iPhone and iPad version of BackStab comes some fresh screenshots for you to check out in the gallery to the right.

You can also hit up the trailer below for an idea of how it plays.
