Real-time iPad boardgame Assassin's Creed Recollection goes free for a limited time

Real-time card-based boardgame Assassin's Creed Recollection is now available to download for free from Apple's App Store.

The Pocket Gamer Silver Award-winning iPad title allows you to discover and collect a "wide variety" of artwork from the Assassin's Creed franchise, and compete in battles with key characters from the popular console games.

You can play through the game's Story mode, which features 8-10 hours of narrative and 20 missions; or tackle Multiplayer mode, which lets you face off against other players from around the world.

You even get a free copy of the animated short film Assassin's Creed Embers - the final chapter in Ezio Auditore's saga.

Shrunk down

If you aren't lucky enough to own an iPad but you have an iPhone or iPod touch, we have some good news for you.

Ubisoft's recently released third quarter 2011-2012 financial results have revealed that Assassin's Creed Recollection will sneak onto the iPhone sometime before the end of March.

You can pick it up right now for your iPad for free.
