According to acclaimed French designer Philippe Starck, he's working with Apple to design a "revolutionary" new product that the Cupertino-based manufacturer will launch in the next eight months.

"Indeed, there is a big project together which will be out in eight months," Starck said during a radio interview with France Info. This product, he said, will be "quite revolutionary".

Apple is rumoured to be working on a next-generation iPhone that ditches its predecessor's looks in favour of an all-new design, which is exactly what the French designer could be working on.

However, Tim Cook's company is also purportedly prepping a voice-controlled television for release, as well as a controller peripheral designed especially for the iPhone and iPad.

Starck has worked on a range of different projects, including hotels and toothbrushes, so you can't really rule out any of the above possibilities completely.
