According to Boy Genius Report, Apple's iPad 2 and future versions of the iPhone won't have the familiar home button.

Murmurs began yesterday with the release of iOS 4.3 Beta and the subsequent find of new multi-touch gestures.

An 'Apple source' has apparently confirmed that said gestures are in-fact intended to replace the physical home button.

The new 'five-fingered' gestures give you the ability to navigate to the homescreen with a 'pinch', access the app switcher with a 'swipe', or easily change between apps with a 'flick'.

Aside from hardware, Apple is also rumoured to be bringing two new pieces of software to iOS.

Photo Booth, which will presumably bring snap-happy users a range of filters and effects; and, a range of iLife apps, which will be unveiled around the time of iPad 2.

With speculation placing the official unveiling of iPad 2 'sometime in February', more news is surely imminent.
