Fruit Ninja developer's new studio reveals debut title AbraWordabra for iOS and Android
What's the magic word?
Industry veteran Tony Takoushi's new studio Total Arkade Software has just lifted the lid on its debut project AbraWordabra, a magical spelling game for iOS and Android.
In an unusual twist of fate, a cruel magician has turned his entire audience into letter blocks.
You must use these blocks to spell words, and thereby reverse the audience members' right-angled metamorphosis.
There are four different game types to spell your way through, including word building, spelling correction, and a bit where you pop balloons.
No, I'm not sure either.
You'll also be able to interact with the blocks themselves, moving them around the screen and stacking them to your advantage.
Gud spelingDuring the past 20 years, Takoushi has worked for a number of influential gaming companies, including Sega, Codemasters, and Halfbrick (where he helped develop the seminal Fruit Ninja).
And on the subject of that last-mentioned games studio, Takoushi promises that "Fans of Halfbrick-style addictive gameplay and production values really won't be disappointed" with AbraWordabra.
Featuring 220 levels, eight interactive comics, and leaderboard support, AbraWordabra will materialise on iOS and Android devices on May 2nd.
