Having gained the licence from Chorion to make four games using Roger Hargreaves' Mr Men and Little Misses characters, Scottish developer Digital Goldfish has released the first one onto the App Store.

Mr Bump has you taking control of the clumsy chap, after he's fallen into the river.

In Doodle Jump-style, you tilt your iPhone to bounce him off the various objects floating in the water - while avoiding crocodiles - to get as far down the river as possible.

Friendly interference

Along the way, you'll also bump into various other Mr Men, who will trigger mini-games.

Other characters provide power ups. For example, Mr Sneeze gives you three sneezes to shoot you further along, while Mr Tall stretches out to boost you.

Obviously the point of the game is to improve your high score as much as possible, with the game supporting Game Center and Facebook integration so you can check how you compare with your friends.

Mr Bump is out now, priced 59p, €0.79 or 99c.

You can see how it plays in the following video.
