When it comes to puzzle games, Tetris bestrides the mobile world like a... well, like a colossal bestriding thing. The famous falling-blocks game has been top of the mobile charts for the last two years, and shows no signs of slowing down.

But what if you're bored of Tetris? The answer may lie in a game called Mozaki Blocks, which involves stacking coloured blocks on a board to form lines. But the most important thing is that it was created by a Russian chap called Alexei Pajitnov, the original designer of, yes, Tetris.

Mozaki Blocks has been around on the Web for a couple of years now, but it's finally coming to mobile courtesy of Microsoft's casual games division. Having played a demo, we can confirm that it looks every bit as smooth and addictive as the Web version (which the screenshot is taken from).

Microsoft hasn't announced when it'll be arriving on mobile in Europe yet, but it looks certain to seal Alexei's reputation as more than a one-hit wonder.
