Motorola teases new device, to be revealed on the 18th October
Googlerola RAZR (is probably not the correct answer)
While the hype machine may be slowly building up for the inevitable appearance of the next Nexus handset from Samsung and Google, it appears the latter is also about to ready a new Android device of its own next week.
Well, it’s not exactly Google that’ll be launching a handset, but Motorola - of which the phone and tablet portion was bought by the big ‘G’ back in August.
Details are thin on the ground when it comes to what this new device is, other than that it's a successor to an existing Motorola model. We assume this because the teaser trailer released today (see below) talks of four elements as adjectives.
So this new device will be ‘thinner’, ‘smarter’, ‘stronger’, and ‘faster’ than an existing model. Motorola missed a trick by not employing a Daft Punk song, really.
Could it be referring to a new Xoom? Another Droid? Or could it be the triumphant return of RAZR, the brand that sold over 120 million phones in the early 21st Century? Answers on a postcard below.
In any case, we’ll find out what Googlerola has up its sleeve on the 18th of October.
