Post Nexus discounting ahoy

Motorola Milestone price drops by £100
|

Poor old Milestone. One day you’re the hottest thing on the mobile-tech block, and the next some young upstart with official Google branding steps up to steal your thunder. That’s the industry we work in, folks.

We shouldn’t feel too sorry for Motorola’s Android 2.0 device, though. It’s been an excellent seller, and it’s set to receive a major second wind thanks to some heavy discounting.

Apparently Expansys’s exclusivity deal on the Milestone expired on January 14th, so the sudden influx of competition from the likes of Play, Handtec and Mobilefun has driven prices down by a whopping 100 smackers to ‘just’ £400 (SIM free, of course).

Make no mistake - the Milestone remains an excellent handset, and preferable to the Nexus One if you prefer your physical Qwerty keyboards (as I do). At this price, it’s still hardly a steal, but it’s a whole lot more enticing.
