The developer Full Control ApS has recently been in touch to let us know that its latest title, Monster Ball (not to be confused with Monster's Ball starring a briefly naked Halle Berry) is now on the App Store with a huge 75 per cent discount.

The premise of the game is simple. As every child reading will no doubt be aware, monsters live under your bed and sleep in your wardrobe. But who would’ve thought that as night falls they engage in a 3D turn-based strategy game that takes place on your bedroom floor? Not me.

Described by the developers as a game that, “builds on the simplicity of checkers without getting as complex as chess”, Monster Ball features a range of special tiles including splitters, clone machines and bazookas, all of which can provide a tactical advantage to your monstrous green ball army.

The game also features unlockable trophies and achievements, two different modes of play, and more than ten different maps as well as the added option of downloading additional levels free of charge.

Monster Ball is planned for release on both PC and Mac through various digital distribution sites. What’s more, it’s also able to be played cross-platform enabling single player, head-to-head and competitive online multiplayer action in order to see who’s got the biggest balls.

It's currently on the App Store at the launch price of just £0.59 or $0.99, but the post-launch price is set to rise to £2.39 or $3.99, so get it while it’s hot.

Hit 'Buy It!' to take a trip to the App Store, or if you’re not quite convinced you can get a taste of the game for free in Monsters Ball Lite.
