Monopoly Here & Now: The World Edition for iPhone
The classic board game is here. Now.
We've already had a look at the mobile version of Monopoly Here & Now: The World Edition, and while it presented a superb digital rendition of the age-old, beloved board game, we weren't mightily impressed that it had tinkered with the locations to such a degree.
It shouldn't really affect the gameplay, but since Monopoly is older than half the Pocket Gamer staff put together, it does seem a tad conceited to dabble with such a vital aspect.
Anyway, iPhoners can now give it a shot, too, as Monopoly Here & Now: The World Edition has just landed on the App Store. This version features a few extra 3D graphics, and the larger screen and touch controls do it no harm, either.
It also makes use of the iPhone's excellent pinch 'n' pull zoom facility, which ought to help you keep track of the boot, hat and iron a bit easier (if they hadn't been replaced by fashionable new trinkets. Bah).
What's most intriguing is the multiplayer functions. Up to four players can take part in a pass-to-play game, or if you're all equipped you can enjoy w-ifi multiplayer - so long as you're all connected to the same wireless router.
Christmas is a good time to bring out the boardgames, so if Monopoly's the one your family always gives a winter dusting, you probably ought to hit the 'Buy It!' button to swing by the App Store and check out Monopoly Here & Now: The World Edition.
