On sale in the Netherlands from this week

Zeemote confirms Sony Ericsson deal and launch games
|

As we reported last week, Zeemote has signed the first handset deal for its Zeemote JS1 Bluetooth controller, and will be launching it in the Netherlands this week with Sony Ericsson.

People purchasing the latter's W760i Walkman handset will get a voucher in the box for a free Zeemote, which they'll have to send off.

The companies have confirmed that two Zeemote Ready games will be embedded on the handset, with 19 more on sale through Sony Ericsson's Fun & Downloads portal in the Netherlands.

Having just checked that out, I can reveal that the launch games are:

Brick Breaker Revolution (Digital Chocolate)
Bubble Popper Deluxe (Digital Chocolate)
Burnout (EA Mobile)
Car Jack Streets (I-play)
Cars (Disney)
Ferrari World Championship (Gameloft)
Fight Night Round 3 (EA Mobile)
Galaxy on Fire (Fishlabs)
Gangstar: Crime City (Gameloft)
Heli Strike (Fishlabs)
Moto GP 2008 (I-play)
Need for Speed ProStreet (EA Mobile)
Pac-Man (Namco)
Planet Riders (Fishlabs)
Powerboat Challenge (Fishlabs)
Rally Master Pro (Fishlabs)
Roland Garros 2008 (Gameloft)
Sonic The Hedgehog Part 1 (Glu)
Tetris Blockout (EA Mobile)

The big news there is that EA Mobile is supporting the Zeemote, along with fellow big publishers Gameloft and Glu Mobile, not to mention the various other listed companies.

The interesting questions now will be first, what percentage of W760i purchasers send off for a Zeemote – we wonder why it's a snail mail voucher and not online registration – and second, when it'll launch in other European countries.

We'll keep you posted.
