War Robots' latest update makes the Extermination PvP mode a permanent fixture
Pixonic has just announced a massive new update for its PvP mobile shooter, War Robots. Titled Version 8.8 it is set to release the new PvE mode called Extermination, permanently. This comes as a big step because War Robots is predominantly about players fighting others on the battlefield.
Since the launch of War Robots back in 2014, the developers have always pondered over the idea of introducing PvE to a PvP game. The idea behind this was to give players a break from the intense multiplayer fights. It was definitely challenging to achieve this, but Extermination will finally allow players to see the game in a different light.
Extermination was born during Pixonic Tech Days and it debuted in War Robots in May 2022 as a limited-time event. At that time, it was received very well, with most players leaving positive feedback. Since then, fans have been waiting for the mode to return and version 8.8 will ensure exactly that.
In this game mode, players will choose a team of mechs that will take on giant robot spiders over multiple levels. These stages will get harder as players progress through them, but the rewards will scale as well. The beginning will be simple, as Ticks are tiny enemies that tend to attack in swarms.
Late-game however, will prove threatening to even veterans, especially when they get to the final boss, Bastion. Players will have unlimited opportunities to complete the run and progress will reset every two weeks. The newly created cinematic should clear the entire story behind Extermination.
