Ultimate War

| Ultimate War

Thrusting you into a new power suit to help you fight off an alien invasion, Ultimate War places the weight of humanity on your shoulders as you blast aliens, bombs, and spacecraft out of the skies above a smouldering city.

It's hard to tell whether this is what you're supposed to be doing, but nevertheless you'll definitely be going up against a wide array of extraterrestrial foes.

Ultimately the same

With enemies coming down from the top of the screen while you run left and right along the bottom, you're tasked with dodging bombs, bullets, and sweeping enemies - all while firing upwards into the sky with your hand cannon.

Bullets do rain from the sky in the later levels, and boss fights make a nice break from the frantic moments of normal fights, but Ultimate War is really doing nothing you haven't seen before.

There are plenty of levels to sink your teeth into, and you'll happily just sit and play your way through them all racking up a high score. However, it's unlikely you'll ever have a yearning to come back for more after playing a stint.

Ultimate War

A generally enjoyable futuristic shooter, let down by somewhat repetitive gameplay and lack of innovative features
