Top Gear gets its own mobile game

Top Gear gets its own mobile game

The amount of left-wing non-petrolheads we know who watch Top Gear is startling. There's no doubt that the BBC show has crossed over from its natural constituency of jeans-wearing gas guzzlers into a truly mainstream audience.

Which is good news for Gameloft, because the publisher has just signed a deal to release Top Gear: The Mobile Game here in the UK. It's due out later this year.

The game will see you racing a power lap on the Top Gear test track, competing on your very own personal power lap board. There'll also be challenges, races, and stunts to test your thumb skills.

Gameloft has been notably good at signing telly deals that include putting the real presenters in the games, but the Top Gear announcement doesn't mention any.

So we asked. And Gameloft tell us that Jeremy Clarkson and test-driver The Stig will be featuring in the game. And on that bombshell, we'll say goodnight. (Until we have more info to bring you, obviously.)
