The Alchemist Code is shutting down for good at the end of March

gumi Inc. has announced the discontinuation of its mobile RPG The Alchemist Code. The title has been around for just a little over seven years but its journey will finally come to an end on March 31st, 2023 at 23:59 PDT. A final wave of content updates was released recently, with nothing to follow anymore.

After a successful launch in Japan in 2016, The Alchemist Code was released globally the following year, with a sizeable fanbase too. But all good things come to an end and so much this strategic RPG.

Although the sudden decision has left fans perplexed, they have the next few weeks to bid the game adieu. No particular reason was given for the closure but the developers expressed their gratitude to everyone.

The purchase of all in-game currency in the form of Gems has been terminated. All the other features and functions will be available until March 31st, and players must also spend all their currency by then.

However, players may opt for a refund of the in-game currency too. Eligible users will be able to request a refund of their unused Gems after the game finally shuts down. The like for returns will go live on April 3rd, from where players must choose the Request for Refund link.

Do note that it isn’t going to be a simple process. Once the form is submitted, it will take 60 days to see if all requirements are met. Subsequently, the refund will be generated through PayPal (which means you need a valid account) in US dollars, which will take another 90 days.

Refund requests will be entertained only until June 3rd. It is crucial that players keep The Alchemist Code on their phones until they receive their refunds as uninstalling it may cause the User ID to be lost for good.

Another game bites the dust. But you can always check out this list of other RPGs to play on mobile!
