Skynet taking over mobile in Terminator Salvation

Christian Bale says, 'F&%$ *&%$ £*$% #$@& finger!'

Skynet taking over mobile in Terminator Salvation

What will all the noise about Gameloft's iPhone adaptation of the forthcoming Terminator Salvation movie - and from embarrassing, egotistical rants from Hollywood's favourite sulk, Christian Bale - we almost overlooked the mobile version, which is as imminent as World War III.

"The Terminator franchise is one of the world's most recognized brands and Gameloft is pleased to create the game that brings the excitement of the movie to your fingertips," says Gonzague de Vallois, senior publishing veep at Gameloft.

"The film provides an optimal environment for our new game and will capture the thrills of the sci-fi adventure for Terminator Salvation fans worldwide."

Apparently, this fourth film in the series is also the first in a new trilogy (those are the kind of maths only Douglas Adams would understand), but stars the whiny cockney barrow boy Christian Bale as John Conner in an epic battle to put down Skynet and its mechanical army as it begins to rise in 2018.

"We are excited to bring an immersive cinematic experience to mobile gaming with the release of Terminator Salvation," said Cos Lazouras, president of Halcyon Games. "Players will have the ability to expand their interaction with the Terminator universe with content that is unique to this platform."

The mobile game is due out on the same day as the movie and the iPhone version, and will be Gameloft's 12th movie/TV-to-game conversion.

We probably won't be holding our breath just yet, as film sequels and game licenses have a horrible habit of disappointing, but fingers crossed this one will pan out and return the Terminator franchise to its former, glowing-eyed glory.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
