MySpace could make you a mobile game star
Vivendi Games Mobile looking for new faces online
Before you get too excited, this only applies to US readers. Bah. Still, it's pretty interesting even so. Vivendi Games Mobile wants to put five people into its upcoming Surviving High School '07 mobile game. And the publisher is looking for them on MySpace.
Basically, to enter the competition you have to sign up the game as one of your friends on MySpace – click here for its profile – and add it as one of your top friends.
On May 14th, five people will be picked out as the winners, and will have in-game characters created based on them, including their names, to be included in future downloadable episodes of Surviving High School '07.
They'll also get free MOTOKRZR K1 handsets, as Motorola is part of the promotion too.
It's early days – as we write, the game only has five friends. But it's an imaginative and modern way to promote a mobile game.
Sadly, don't expect this sort of thing to happen in the UK until a) we develop an educational system that includes high schools, b) the operators enable us to buy games with downloadable episodes, and c) those of us who've switched affections to Facebook remember our MySpace passwords.
