Star Wars is back on your phone

And it's all guns blazing in glorious 3D

Star Wars is back on your phone

Forgotten about Star Wars? Not for long. THQ Wireless has another mobile game based on the films coming out – the 56th by our estimate – and it sounds like a corker.

Star Wars Death Star Assault is just what it says on the tin: an action-heavy shoot 'em up where you're taking on the evil Empire armed with just a souped-up spaceship and a cheeky grin (oh, and a dodgy unrequited love for your long-lost sister, obviously).

The game has eight levels of flying action, which starts with you in an X-Wing, and graduates to the point where – and this is seriously exciting if you're a Star Wars fan – you take the wheel/rudder/thruster/whatever of the Millennium Falcon. Rawk!

THQ promises five different enemy types including TIE Fighters, as well as the chance to play as Luke Skywalker and Lando Calrissian.

But most importantly, Star Wars Death Star Assault is in full 3D. It's launching at the end of November with Vodafone, and will only be available for 3D-capable Sony Ericsson phones.
