| South Park

South Park, the show, is currently well into its 11th series, yet it still manages to offend anyone with a mental age over ten and an intolerance of juvenile comedy as effectively as when it first appeared no TV (Erm, I like it – Ed). Appropriate, then, that South Park the game is almost as offensive, albeit for very different reasons.

Split up into a series of ten mini-games (or 'episodes'), South Park manages to squeeze in practically every character, the same toilet humour and a referential nod to some well-established gaming genres.

Sadly, though, the games are just too basic and dull. Allow us to take you through what's on offer:

Kenny Cow Dodge
Playing as Kenny, you have to avoid a stampede of scrolling cows for four minutes. But you'll lose interest after around 30 seconds.

Pee Pool
Cartman has to navigate his way around a swimming pool while avoiding the numerous pools of (snigger) wee.

Gnomes
Kick gnomes in a basic maze and collect underwear. You're on a time limit, so collect coffee to speed up. One of the better games of the ten on offer.

Kiss The Girl
Stan must kiss either Wendy or Ms Ellen and miss anyone else. This is done by picking one of three characters in a line-up. Original? Yes. A game? Hardly.

Chef Dance
Hit the correct button when a series of moving dots reaches a line at the bottom of the screen, as seen in most rhythm action games.

Snow
Playing as Kenny, you just have to catch the falling snow flakes and avoid anything that doesn't look like snow – usually this will be an unidentifiable grey blob.

Starvin' Marvin
There are gauges and buttons in this mini-game, but little of it makes any sense. Basically, you play as Cartman and have to keep Marvin off your food.

Ike's Wee Wee
Kyle has to avoid scissors and other obstacles in a game that's just Cow Dodge with different graphics.

T And P
A 'Simple Simon' style game where you play as Terrence and have to follow Phillip's movements. We'll be lenient with this one, as we love these characters in the show.

Marklar
Taken from the alien race of the same name, this is a disastrous shooter that is very nearly unplayable.

Individually, there are only a couple of interesting moments (Gnomes and Chef Dance are two of the best – relatively speaking), while collectively they come across as a poor compilation of homemade ZX Spectrum games. You'd expect the graphics to be crude (to match the style of the show), but there's no reason why the gameplay has to follow suit.

Which leaves us with a classic example of a licence trying to do too much, but without actually doing anything at all. If even just half of the games were more playable and the overall game structure was a little deeper, we'd have no issue being kinder on South Park.

As it stands, no matter how objectively we look at it there's very little to recommend here, even for die-hard fans of the show.

South Park

South Park the game is brash, offensive and not nearly as funny as it thinks it is. Much like the show itself, then
