Telcogames' SiL came out on top in this week's GDC mobile innovation hunt competition, beating 15 other games to both the judges' approval, and also the conference attendees.

The 3D silhouette-matching puzzle game is only available for smartphones and PCs, but that didn't stop it being commended for its innovation, creativity, fun, coolness and whackiness.

It's the second time SiL has won an award, having previously walked away with the Best Mobile Game prize in Nokia's Forum PRO Awards.

"To win this award is an achievement in itself, but to be recognised by both the judges and the participating audience says a lot about our innovative and talented team of individuals behind the huge success of this compelling mobile hit," says Nino Ceraolo, head of development at Telcogames, who forgot to thank his mum. But he can be excused a bit of self-congratulation, we think!

We're on the case with bringing you a review of SiL – and we're intending to do it before the game wins any more awards.
