Fans of controversial '90s games rejoice, for the king of controversy Postal is on its way to mobile handsets soon, courtesy of GlobalFun.

The PC original had an uncanny knack of causing outrage with the mainstream press for its grotesque levels of violence, with three countries still banning the sale of both Postal and its sequel.

As with the original, Postal puts you in charge of a very angry young man who, as the name suggests, goes ‘postal’ on his neighbourhood - killing, maiming and setting fire to anyone and everyone who does and doesn’t deserve it.

For the mobile release, GlobalFun has switched the view from 3D isometric to an overhead angle, making the new title look very much like one of the original’s peers, Grand Theft Auto.

There isn’t much information about features other than that you can customise your character and that it has a ‘huge armoury’ with a flamethrower included, but it does look suitably violent from the gameplay footage released.
