Pokemon Go will host an event to celebrate the release of Detective Pikachu Returns soon
Over the years, we’ve seen loads of Pokémon put on several costumes in Pokémon Go, especially Pikachu. Whatever event it may be, the chubby rodent Pokémon always seems to dress up for the occasion. Pikachu seems to enjoy cosplaying, particularly as a Sherlock Holmes-esque sleuth after putting its detective hat on. That’s where Detective Pikachu comes from.
Detective Pikachu is one of the most popular forms of the Pokémon and has featured in games alongside a standalone movie too. Well, Pikachu the investigator is coming back as Detective Pikachu Returns launches on the Nintendo Switch next week. And what better way to welcome it than with a collaboration event in Pokémon Go?
Check out this list of redeemable Pokémon Go codes!The Pokémon GO x Detective Pikachu Returns event will go live in-game on October 5th and continue until October 9th at 8:00 pm local time. Trainers will be able to participate in a variety of detective-themed Timed Researches as well as other activities. In addition, there are a bunch of rewards and an avatar pose up for grabs.
A Pokémon of Interest is hiding somewhere in the wilds as players have been tasked to help Professor Willow find it by participating in the Timed Research. It involves completing various Field Research tasks that reward an encounter with Pikachu wearing a detective hat. In order to claim all rewards, trainers will have to clear all quests before the event concludes.
Speaking of encounters, multiple other Pokémon such as Growlithe, Magikarp, Chimecho, Ducklett, Xatu, and more will also be available. Further, players can participate in a Collection Challenge to earn even more themed rewards. A few bonuses going live during the event include 2x XP for spinning PokeStops and lots of surprise encounters with Pikachu.
Finally, everyone can also pick up the Detective Pikachu Avatar Pose from the store beginning October 5th.
