Things are about to get interesting in the Pokémon Go universe as Primal Reversion has been discovered. This year, the Pokémon Go Tour: Hoenn will be held globally on February 25th and 26th with a special in-person event in Las Vegas, where players will be able to encounter Primal forms of the Legendary Pokémon Kyogre and Groudon.

To celebrate this massive tour and the addition of these extremely powerful Pokémon, Niantic is hosting the Primal Rumblings event on Pokémon Go as a precursor to the global tour. Between February 22nd and 24th, trainers will be able to participate in this event, where they will encounter a number of Pokémon.

A few starter Pokémon like Treecko, Torchic and Mudkip will feature more frequently in the wild alongside others like Wurmple, Whimsur, Barboach, and Numel. Similar Pokémon will also be featured in raids with their evolutions being available too. As an added bonus, all players will also receive 2x XP for evolving their Pokémon during Primal Rumblings.

While Latios and Latias will be part of the Mega Raids, the showstopper of the event is Rayquaza, who will be featured in five-star raids and will continue to do so even after the event, until March 1st. Trainers that manage to defeat and capture the Pokémon will earn a Rayquaza that knows the Charged Attack Breaking Swipe which deals 50 power in Trainer Battles and 35 power in Gyms and Raids.

In addition to this, a number of Field Research tasks will go live, allowing players to earn items that will prove to be useful during the Hoenn tour. A special Primal Rumblings Collection Challenge will be available too, with Ultra Balls and a Rocket Radar being up for grabs. And to top it off, loads of exclusive stickers will be available by spinning PokéStops and opening gifts.
