Pokemon Go in October 2022 brings new raids, spotlight hours, and events celebrating Halloween and Diwali
The first month of Pokémon Go’s Season of Light has almost concluded. Players participated in lots of events like the Psychic Spectacular, Test Your Mettle, the ongoing Fashion Week and the usual raids and Community Day. October is set to give players the same thrill, especially since it's Halloween month so expect some spookiness!
October Raids
More powerful Pokémon are up for grabs in the October raid battles. Five-star raids will feature mystical and legendary Pokémon like Yveltal who’s already available, Xerneas, and Giratina in their Altered and Original Formes.Three Pokémon will be available in Mega Raids. Mega Lopunny who is already starting to appear, Mega Manectric, and finally a mystery Pokémon will occupy the Mega Raid slot from October 20th onwards.
Spotlight Hours
Spotlight Hours are held every Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm local time. This month’s spotlight Pokémon and bonuses are:- October 4th – Purrloin with 2x Evolve XP
- October 11th – Haunter with 2x Stardust
- October 18th – Misdreavus with 2x Catch XP
- October 25th – Shuppet with 2x Evolve XP
Community Day

- Fashion Week 2022 – The event continues into October, running until October 3rd
- Research Breakthrough – This month, Shedinja will be featured in research breakthroughs, with a chance of finding the Shiny variant
There are a bunch of other events as well and although we don’t have too much information about them, Niantic has provided us with dates:
- Evolving Stars Event – October 5th to 11th
- Mega Gyrados Raid Day – October 8th
- Festival of Lights – A celebration of Diwali, available October 14th to 17th
- Halloween Event – The most awaited event, between October 20th to November 1st
- Safari Zone Taipei – October 21st to 23rd
