Player X signs movie mobile games deal

It's teaming up with Paramount Pictures

Player X signs movie mobile games deal

British firm Player X has announced a deal to make mobile games based on movies from Hollywood studio Paramount Pictures.

The deal covers three mobile games to be released over the next three years, as well as 'retrosodes' – up to three-minute mobile videos based on the film brands. Player X hasn't said which films they'll be based on.

However, an article in The Hollywood Reporter last month claimed that the company was producing retrosodes based on Saturday Night Fever, Zoolander and Top Gun, so I'm wondering if that's the same deal.

If so, a Saturday Night Fever mobile game could be ace, although Top Gun has been done before (albeit a long time ago).

Anyway, movie games continue to be big hitters for mobile games publishers, with most new blockbusters (the action ones, anyway) having a spin-off game nowadays.

What's more, some of them are even good, which is a change from a few years back. Here's hoping that Player X's upcoming titles continue that trend.
