PUBG New State's October 2022 update brings a Halloween collab, new game mode, and gunplay changes

With less than two weeks left in October, it’s time to unveil PUBG New State’s October 2022 update, v0.9.40, which is set to go live on the 20th, bringing a new game mode, weapon customization, and other improvements. New State Mobile is also set to celebrate Halloween with a collaboration with Dead by Daylight that goes live on the same day, but we’re yet to learn more about it.

New Game Mode

New State Labs is giving players something else to test out with the addition of Recruit Mode in Akinta. As the name suggests, the gameplay involves recruiting other members to your team, where a maximum of eight can be added, each restoring the HP and boost gauge on their arrival.

In terms of specifics, 32 players drop in and the match lasts for a maximum of 18 minutes. Ten people can form one team but only eight can be alive at a time. At the end, whoever survives in the Blue Zone will be declared the winner.

Gunplay Changes

With this update, C2 on the M24 will not feature the Tracking Bullet instead of the Bipod. Using this ensures that an enemy is tagged regardless of their cover however, reload speed takes a hit and the magazine slot cannot be used.

Additional changes to the weapon mechanics include the introduction of a new auto-fire mode for newbies and some balancing changes to the MP-155 Ultima and M110A1. The auto-fire feature should come quite in handy for players struggling with aim.

Other Changes

In the Exhibit Hall Team Deathmatch, some positions have been changed, and the escalator has been disabled to ensure better vision. Akinta will feature boats along the shoreline, there are some weather options, and a few improvements to the Bounty Royale Mode. Players can also take a break from competitive gameplay by turning off Ranked Mode so that they don’t lose their score.
